23 weeks and the nursery is painted!

I'm 23 weeks and 2 days today! Another week down! It seems like time is flying and I'm really trying not to rush my pregnancy away but I love seeing the weeks move by quickly!  Yesterday my mom and I painted the nursery while Alam is out of town.  I figured this would be best since my mom is an excellent painter and he might have freaked out about the color.  It is very green but I love it and it matches the bedding perfectly.  If you are curious what color it is "asparagus" by Behr.  It looks sooo good.  Now I'm just itching even more to get the furniture.  I'm such a nut I just stare at the room during the day.  It literally glows compared to the rest of our neutral house.  I can't wait for Alam to see it and hopefully love it as much a I do :)

Election Day

Voting today was odd.  I wasn't just voting for my usual concerns or my own political views but for the views of my son.  The first time I voted wasn't really that important to me because I just had me to worry about.  This year was definitely different.  I thought about where my family will be next year and how each presidential candidate would affect our lives.  I voted for Jonah's future today and not only my own.  It made me proud and it also made me emotional.  I hope that no matter who is elected that God guides them to lead our country into something better and all that America is supposed to be.

I am so overwhelmed.

I've been in BRU a thousand times in the past 4 months and still somehow I was completely overwhelmed when Alam and I went to register yesterday.  He was in a trance and I could see the panic in his face!  He was like "we have to buy all this for the baby?"  I think all he could see was dollar signs everywhere haha.  We looked at nursery furniture and pretty much decided on a collection.  Then we started the registry but really just added big items such as the stroller, carseat, swing, play yard, etc.  I told him I would take care of the rest either by adding online or bringing a friend back to the store.  All in all it was a short but productive trip.  I'm just glad to have at least started the registry now I can finish it.  I am still completely overwhelmed by what I need! I hope my shower is a great one!

22 Week Belly Picture.

I honestly can't believe I've made it to 22 weeks.  It seems like this pregnancy is flying by but when I actually stop think it really hasn't.  After a first trimester scare, I'm truly thankful to be at this point with a healthy baby boy :)  I can feel Jonah kicking on a daily basis but I think he is lazy just like his mommy and daddy.  He sleeps all day!  I might feel one or two soft kicks but not much!  I tell him to get up and get moving!  He makes mommy worry when he's so quiet in there.  I love it though.  I really cherish every kick or bump.

Today was a really fabulous day.  It was the kind of day that makes me look around and think how truly blessed I am.  The day started off with a 5k walk that I completed with my two best friends.  One of which is 34 weeks pregnant!  Talk about motivation!  I then went to her first baby shower later on this afternoon.  She got so many beautiful things for her and her little boy.  I can't wait to spoil him and I'm thankful that Jonah will have a built in for life playmate and best friend.  Life is good folks.  It's definitely not perfect but it's good.

Finally made a blog!

After many requests and a few weeks of procrastination it has finally arrived!  I mainly did this because my labor buddy told me I had to hehe :)  I'm glad she kept encouraging me too though because since the day I found out I was pregnant I wanted to make a blog but being the lazy procrastinator I am I always put it off! Now here we are more than halfway through my pregnancy and I'm just now making it!  This is for you and Avery peanut :)  I hope everyone enjoys reading about Jonah and I's boring little life!
